Illegal structures in govt land: HC asks collector to respond

Hyderabad: Telangana high court on Thursday directed the collector and registrar of Medchal Malkajgiri district to respond to the allegations that they allowed private individuals to encroach and raise commercial structures in 10 acres of govt land in Bowrampet in Dundigal Gandimaisamma mandal.Gadeela Raghuveer Reddy of Kondapaka in Siddipet filed a PIL, alleging that the authorities not only entered the names of the encroachers in revenue records, but also granted the layout plan, building permission, etc., in survey number 166 in Medchal district.When the court directed the private persons to file their counters, one of them on Thursday said they would soon file their counter.Additional advocate general Imran Khan sought two weeks time to furnish details to the court. The private parties also sought time.Raghuveer alleged in his PIL that though this was a govt land, the authorities were showing undue haste in conferring rights on persons who were not connected to it.Stating that P Vijaya Rama Rao and five others had unlawfully entered into a development agreement with Vajra Developers over the piece of land, the petitioner made all of them as respondents in the PIL.
