Hyderabad: Telangana High Court advocates, who have formed their own association, are heading for elections now. The election is scheduled to be held on March 30 on the high court premises.

Four advocates, Gandra Mohan Rao, Sarasani Satyam Reddy, T Amarnath Goud and K Ramakanth Reddy are contesting for the post of president of the association.

As this is the first election after formation of separate state and the formation of the association, all contestants have been campaigning vigorously. Scores of contestants are in the fray for the posts of vice-president, joint secretary, secretary, treasurer and members of executive committee. Facebook and WhatsApp groups are also playing a key role in enabling aspirants reach out to people.

Authorities are going to use electronic voting machines. Around 4,000 advocates are listed as voters on the rolls of the advocate's association.
