Telangana govt’s 99-day Praja Palana outreach programme begins on March 6
Hyderabad: For the third time in two years, the state govt has taken up a massive 99-day outreach programme to redress public grievances. The third phase of the programme, ‘Praja Palana-Pragati Pranalika', will be launched today and will continue until June 12.The first phase of the programme was held between December 28, 2023 and January 6, 2024, and was conducted from the village and ward levels to district level. The second phase, a three-day programme launched on the occasion of Republic Day in 2025, saw village- and ward-level meetings to receive grievances.
The govt received applications from eligible individuals for govt welfare schemes and directly interacted with people to understand grassroots issues."Based on applications received in both phases, the govt implemented various welfare schemes such as farm loan waivers, Rythu Bharosa, free bus travel for Mahalakshmi, gas cylinders for 500, 200 units of free electricity under Gruha Jyothi, Kalyana Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, Indiramma houses, issuance of new ration cards, distribution of fine rice, and a 500 bonus scheme for fine paddy," officials from the Chief Minister Office (CMO) said.The third phase will see special programmes being planned with officials from all departments that are closely connected to public services and needs. This programme is being conducted at five levels, from the village to the state level.Officials said that starting today, all govt offices from village to the state level will focus on sanitation and clearing pending files. Until June 12, a pre-Telangana Formation Day celebration will be held, in which district collectors, department secretaries, and chief secretaries will participate."In addition to village and ward meetings, new initiatives are being planned at mandal, municipal, assembly constituency, and district levels. Special stalls and exhibitions will be set up under the supervision of various departments at mandal and district levels. Guidelines have been prepared to involve public representatives from village sarpanches to MLAs and MPs at all levels," officials said.The govt is planning to conduct interaction programmes with the beneficiaries of various govt schemes and ensure all eligible individuals receive welfare benefits. Revamping govt schools and hospitals, and raising awareness among people about using renewable energy such as solar, will be taken up. The action plan will also include skill training and employment programmes for youth, and conducting job fairs with a target of providing jobs to one lakh youth, officials said.
