HYDERABAD: The government on Wednesday constituted two committees - on surrogacy, and on clinical trials, that will be headed by a retired justice. A third panel on clinical establishments was also set up that will be chaired by commissioner of health and family welfare.

Both the surrogacy and clinical trials committees will be headed by Justice (retd)

Gopal Reddy

. The committees have been asked to submit reports on all issues related to the topics within 30 days to government.

Ramakrishna Reddy

, chairman of Ethical Committee of Telangana State Medical Council; Dr Balamba (Gyn & OBG); Dr Anuradha (infertility specialist); Dr

Malathi

(OBG); with director of public health and family welfare as convener.

The clinical trials committee comprises Dr Ramakrishna Reddy, chairman of Ethical Committee of Telangana State Medical Council; director of public health and family welfare, director of medical education; Dr

MUR Naidu

retired dean NIMS; Dr P Usha Rani, professor and HOD at NIMS; with Dr Amrutha Rao, joint director of drugs control administration acting as the convener.

Third panel has commissioner of health and family welfare; directors of public health and family welfare, medical education and NIMS; VC of KNRUHS; chief executive officer of employees health scheme; with HoD of hospital administration at NIMS as convener.
