Telangana factory blast: 1 more injured dies, toll at 46

HYDERABAD: The death toll in the Sigachi Industries blast rose to 46 in the early hours of Friday as another worker, Diwakar (28) from West Bengal who was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Hi-Tec City succumbed to burn injuries.

An official from the govt hospital Patancheru said that Diwakar died due to severe burns leading to an infection. Arrangements were made by the district authorities to send the body to his native place after conducting autopsy.

Of the total deceased, as many as eight died due to injuries at various private hospitals while 38 died at the site of the tragedy. Another 13 injured are undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Madinaguda. One of them is in the ICU while the rest are stable.

Eight people are still missing post the June 30 explosion that ripped through the dryer unit of the firm in Sangareddy.
