Telangana elections: Chandrababu Naidu failed to get momentum for People's Front
HYDERABAD: Going by the initial trends in Telangana elections, the first-time-ever alliance of Congress and TDP seems to have gone for a toss.
Though AICC president Rahul Gandhi and TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu campaigned jointly in several areas where TDP and Congress were touted to be having the edge, their effort seemed to have failed.
Congress is now struggling to retain its tally of 21 seats and TDP its 17 seats. The People’s Front of Congress, TDP, TJS and CPI is leading in only 15 seats and TRS is leading in 89 seats. The party won only in 60 seats in last election. More disappointing for the TDP, the party is trailing in all the seats like Kukatpally and Serilingampally in Hyderabad where voters with Seemandhra population are high.
Naidu may have to receive serious setback with his niece and granddaughter of NTR Suhasini trailing in Kukatpally.
More than Congress, the election trend is indicating serious concern to Naidu who may have to face its impact in Andhra election as the election will be seen as Naidu’s failure to get the alliance going on and his plans to play major role in national politics with anti-BJP conclave.
