MAHABUBABAD: Four devotees lost their lives in a case of drunk driving at the Kesamudram bypass road in Mahabubabad district on Friday. According to police, the car with seven occupants fell into a roadside agricultural well and four of them died on the spot, while the remaining three had a miraculous escape.
Police said, the devotees had gone to Annaram Shareef Dargah to offer prayers, and were on their way back. The deceased were identified as Banoth Bhadru (39), his wife Banoth Hachali (35), residents of Goliya thanda of Tekulapallyu mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Banoth Lalitha(45) and Banoth Suresh (15) who is the son of deceased Lalitha, a resident of Bhavani Nagar Thanda in Mahabubabad district.
The injured three persons are - Guguloth Bikku (40), the car driver who hails from Tekulapally mandal in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, Maloth Sumalatha (20) and Maloth Deekshith Naik (one and half year old) residents of Goliya thanda in the district. All the injured were shifted to govt hospital for treatment, police said.
