Hyderabad: Irrigation and civil supplies minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Sunday reiterated the Congress govt's commitment to addressing unemployment and empowering youth through extensive recruitment and skill development initiatives. The Congress govt filled up 53,310 posts in 10 months, marking a national record in such a short period, he said.

Speaking to media persons along with ministers D Sridhar Babu and Ponnam Prabhakar and others, after reviewing preparations in Peddapalli for the Praja Palana Vijayotsavam Sabha, which chief minister A Revanth Reddy will address on Dec 4, Uttam said the event would highlight the state's achievements in recruitment, job creation, and youth empowerment.

"Chief minister Revanth Reddy will distribute appointment letters to 593 newly selected employees of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) at the meeting. He will also highlight SCCL's achievements," he said.

During the event, Uttam said appointment letters would also be distributed to about 9,000 individuals, including 8,143 candidates selected under Group-IV, 442 civil assistant surgeons, and newly recruited employees in Singareni.

Earlier, the minister reviewed the performance of the irrigation and civil supplies departments in the combined Karimnagar district. He directed officials to expedite the paddy procurement process while ensuring farmers benefit. Uttam said the govt would prioritise the welfare of ex-servicemen by addressing long-standing issues affecting retired soldiers, widows of soldiers, and their families.
