Describing the recent hate crimes against Indians in the US as `unfortunate incidents', the chief minister in his letter said the killing of Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Vamsi Reddy Mamidala had shaken the confidence of the families of those working in the US.

“It has been noticed that hate crime against Indians has increased. As we know, the Indian diaspora in the US are contributing immensely to the development of America and India as well. I request you to take up the matter with the US authorities at an appropriate level,“ the CM said.

Srinivas Kuchibhotla, 32, from Hyderabad, was shot dead in Olathe, Kansas on February 22. The FBI is investigating it as a hate crime.
