Teja falls prey to credit card cheat
HYDERABAD: Police arrested a private bank sales executive for duping Tollywood director Teja to the tune of Rs 6.2 lakh.
The sales executive, Avinash Gupta, 29, of Moti Nagar, went to Teja last year to renew the latter's two credit cards. But during the process of renewal, Gupta gave his own residential address instead of Teja's for card delivery. The credit cards were delivered to Gupta's residence in August 2009.
Using those credit cards, Gupta made several purchases.

As the due amount rose to Rs 6.2 lakh, bank representatives met Teja last week to verify.
Teja was shocked when the bank employees told him about the outstanding bill of Rs 6.2 lakh and told them that he was not using those credit cards after their expiry in 2009.
The bank staff conducted a probe into the issue and found that it was the handywork of Avinash Gupta. A complaint was lodged with the Jubilee Hills police and Avinash was arrested from his house on Sunday under the charges of cheating, impersonation and forgery.
