TDP seeks CPM support in Huzurnagar

Hyderabad: Days after the ruling TRS enlisted the support of CPI, Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday knocked CPM’s door seeking its support for its candidate Chava Kiranmayi’s victory in Huzurnagar constituency.

Telangana TDP president L Ramana said they informed the CPM leadership. The Left party said it would discuss within the party and inform TDP about supporting its candidate soon.

TDP initially said it would go it alone and announced the candidature of Kiranmayi. CPM had also fielded its candidate P Sekhar Rao whose nomination papers were not in order and as such, his nomination was rejected by the election authorities.

Though CPM did not enter the Huzurnagar fray in 2018 Assembly elections as part of the grand alliance, it secured 3.13% vote in 2014 elections from the constituency.
