HYDERABAD: After announcing candidates for 16 of the 17 LS seats in Telangana, the Congress has sought support from the Telangana TDP. Addressing a press conference on Friday,

TTDP politburo member Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy

said that discussions were going on between TDP and Congress. "Senior Congress leaders RC Khuntia and Uttam Kumar Reddy are in talks with TTDP president L Ramana," he said.

Chandrasekhar said TDP is looking to contest four seats in Telangana and candidates would be announced on March 24. Sources said TTDP may bargain for Khammam seat as part of alliance as senior leader K Satyanarayana is keen to contest from there. If that happens, then former Union minister Renuka Chowdary, who is lobbying for Congress ticket from Khammam, may end up as a loser. TTDP leaders have sent proposals to party chief Chadrababu Naidu seeking permission to contest from Nalgonda and Bhongir Lok Sabha seats.
