HYDERABAD: The first meeting of the task force constituted by the central government for working out the modalities of the Jai Prakash Rozgar Guarantee Yojana (JPRGY) will be held New Delhi on May 29.
The scheme, announced by Union finance minister Yashwant Sinha during his budget speech this year, aims at identifying the most distressed districts in the country for providing employment guarantee schemes for their development.

The task force is chaired by Union rural development minister M Venkaiah Naidu and it includes Union ministers Ananth Kumar, Kariya Munda, Vasundhara Raje and Balasaheb Vikhe Patil, Planning Commission member S P Gupta, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) former chairman P Kotaiah and Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) chairman Mahesh Sharma as members.
Union rural development ministry secretary will be the member convener of the task force. Informing this to reporters on Sunday, Venkaiah Naidu said that the terms of reference of the task force are study and identification of distressed districts in the country, designing JPRGY and prescribing the modalities/mechanisms for its effective implementation, identifying ministries, agencies to facilitate its execution, assessing district-wise allocation of resources and examining other relevant issues pertaining to rural development.
