Hyderabad: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee on Thursday submitted a resolution to party president
Rahul Gandhi requesting him to continue as AICC president even as he remained steadfast on stepping down after the drubbing the party faced in the Lok Sabha elections. TPCC president and Nalgonda MP Uttam Kumar stated in the missive that while the BJP relied on stoking nationalistic sentiments to wrest power, the Congress had adopted an inclusive approach.
Earlier, senior Congress leaders VH Hanumantha Rao sat on a fast requesting Rahul to reconsider his decision.
“There are about one crore Congress supporters in Telangana. We want Rahul to continue as chief of the party as he has worked really hard for this election,” Uttam said.
