HYDERABAD: Revealing the doctor-gangster nexus, it was suspended Nims doctor G Sarath Chandra Nagavara Prasad who had introduced fugitive Bhanu Kiran to realtor Vishnu Vardhan Rao. The trio and V Venkata Madhu Mohan Reddy, who was arrested by the CID sleuths on Tuesday, are among the four of the five accused in intimidating a businessman while settling a 220-acre land dispute in Maheshwaram.
Madhu Mohan Reddy was arrested following a complaint lodged by Vanga Sudheer Reddy, the businessman. In his complaint, Sudheer Reddy said that he along with Vishnu Vardhan Rao, a resident of Banjara Hills Road No 1, purchased 220 acre land in survey nos 231, 243, 256, 259, 280, 281, 463, 469 situated at Maheshwaram village from the Muslim Maternity Hospital. The land was transferred in the name of Vision Ventures, represented by Sudheer and Vishnu.
“Meanwhile, we got an offer from a Bangalore-based party who wanted to purchase the land at Rs 40 lakh per acre and received an advance amount of Rs 50 lakh. But subsequently, officials of Wakf Board issued a letter to Maheshwaram revenue officials requesting them not to execute any transactions concerning the land. “In the meantime, my partner Vishnu Vardhan started pressuring me to pay his share of the money by selling the property. During this time, I received a call from Bhanu Kiran warning me of dire consequences if I failed to pay the money to Vishnu,'' Sudheer told the police.
In January 2010, Bhanu Kiran asked Sudheer to come to Jubilee Hills, where gangster-politician Suri was also present. In its remand report, the CID has stated that it was deputy medical superintendent of Nims Dr G Sarath Chandra Nagavara Prasad who introduced Bhanu Kiran to Vishnu Vardhan Rao.
