HYDERABAD: The police on Monday nabbed a suspect in connection with the Mahankali temple theft case. The person managed to evade arrest last year by fleeing the city, when the case was solved. The man identified as Mohsin, was picked up by sleuths of Central Crime Station (CCS). CCS which earlier arrested Mohammad Hussain Ali and Sheik Haider the main accused in the robbery that took place last year, stated Mohsin was an aide of the duo but managed to evade them by fleeing the city.
In October 2012 tension gripped the Old City following a burglary in the UppugudaMahankali Temple. A diamond 'bindi' presented by the Nizam in 1908 was reportedly stolen. Golden and silver articles were also missing. "We will try and recover the stolen property from his possession by interrogating him" said a senior official.
