HYDERABAD: A 25-year-old student from Nalgonda, Telangana pursuing his master’s course in the US died in a car accident on May 7.
Kranthi Kiran Reddy Sareddy graduated from the University of Central Missouri. He was to have completed his master’s degree in August this year.
Kranthi’s family hails from Annaram village of Miryalaguda in Nalgonda district in Telangana.
His parents Srinivas Reddy and Aruna have urged the state government to help the family get the body back home. They were informed about the death of their son in the accident reportedly by the university authorities.
On May 7, 2022 around 7.30pm central time, Kranthi met with a car accident and was declared dead by the paramedics at the accident spot.
There were three other individuals who are involved in the car accident. All of them are being treated.
After he joined for his master’s degree in August 2021, Kranthi Kiran was trying to get internship to work in a computer engineering field which was his area of study.
According to Chandrakanth Sareddy from Cleveland, Ohio, US who started a gofundme page to raise funds to meet the expenses to send the body back to India from the US, Kranthi Kiran was traveling with his roommates to visit a friend and on his way back home, met with an accident.
“He was seated on the front passenger side. His car was hit by a truck and he was declared dead on spot,” he said.
Out of the target of 1 lakh US dollars which friends are trying to raise for the family, more than 58,000 has been contributed so far.
