'Stole parked ambulance, fled blaring siren': Filmy thief-police chase on Telangana highway

HYDERABAD: A thief who had stolen a parked ambulance at Hayathnagar, gave a tough time for police, who had to chase the stolen vehicle on Saturday morning.

The thief even injured an assistant sub-inspector of police, by hitting him when he attempted to stop the ambulance. The incident of police attempting to stop the vehicle at a toll plaza was captured, where the thief was seen driving the ambulance carelessly by driving in a zigzag manner in an attempt to escape by crossing the toll plaza.



Earlier, after the parked ambulance was stolen from a hospital in Hayathnagar, the hospital staff alerted Dial-100. The accused left the place by blaring the siren.

Rachakonda police made a chase to nab him. At the toll plaza, police arranged lorries blocking the road to make it inevitable for the thief to stop the ambulance. But he still managed.

Finally, at Suryapet the driver lost control and hit a driver and the vehicle went off the road. The thief was taken into custody and is being questioned.
