According to sources, DGP S S P Yadav and other officials have been directed to submit a report on the required strength and budgetary allocation for the same. But going by past instances, nothing much may come of it. For instance, after the twin blasts last year, the state had announced the setting up of an anti-terrorist force, Octopus, but the outfit is still not in place.
However, the Saturday's Cabinet meet reportedly decided to strengthen Octopus and the Greyhounds by giving them training on the lines of NSG.
In other decisions, the Cabinet agreed to name few key Jalayagnam projects after national leaders. Pranahita Chevella project will now be known as Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar project; Uttarandhra project as Babu Jagjeevan Ram Uttarandhra Srujala Sravanti project, Dummugudem will be called Mahatma Jyothi Rao Phule Dummugudem Srujala Sravanti project, Telugu Ganga as Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Telugu Ganga project, Pulivendula as Kotla Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy Pulivendula lift irrigation project, and Galeru Nagari Srujala Sravanti as Sri Krishnadevaraya Galeru Nagari Srujala Sravanti project.
The Cabinet also decided to move a bill in the Assembly which will enable bringing a no-confidence motion against municipal mayors and chairpersons after completion of four years.

The government also decided to have separate directorate for the tribals living in the plain areas on lines of the ITDA. The directorate will be located in Hyderabad at it will have 15 officials under the chairmanship of the director, the officers include one project officer, six assistant project officers and 12 other out sourced employees.
The cabinet allotted 323.74 acres of land in Kodem village in Anantapur district to APIIC for setting up of an industrial park. The government land is to be given at a cost of Rs 50,000 per acre. APSRTC is also to get 1.96 acre land in Therlam mandal of Vijayanagaram and 1.38 acres of land in Cheepurpalli mandal to construct bus stops.
The state government also accorded permission to AP Transco to float electricity bonds for Rs 350 crores to raise funds. It had agreed to give guarantee for the bonds.
With reference to the Rajeev Swagruha housing scheme, the cabinet directed officials to acquire 29 acres of land at Bandlaguda in Rangareddy district, 26 acres in Allapur village in Tandur mandal and 46 acres in Bahadurpalli in Kukatpalli.
