Stalin set to return with big majority: Bhatti

Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Tuesday expressed confidence that the DMK-Congress alliance would return to power with a massive majority under chief minister MK Stalin.

On the last day of the assembly election campaign, Bhatti, along with AICC observer and former MP Madhu Yashki, campaigned in Karikkal, Veeranattur, Ariyur and Ayyapedu in Sholingur constituency of Ranipet district.



He said the people of Tamil Nadu would vote for development and secularism, expressing hope that voters would stand for self-respect.

During the campaign, Bhatti described Tamil Nadu politics as a guiding force for the nation. He said leaders such as Periyar EV Ramasamy, CN Annadurai and M Karunanidhi laid strong foundation for social justice. He praised the people of Tamil Nadu for standing in defence of secularism.

He criticised the rulers at the Centre, alleging attempts to suppress Tamil culture, language and rights, and said unity among secular forces was essential. He added that Rahul Gandhi's message of love and Stalin's development agenda had come together, urging voters to back the DMK-Congress alliance for continued welfare and development.

Highlighting Telangana welfare schemes, Bhatti said women were given free bus travel under the Mahalakshmi scheme, while households received free electricity up to 200 units under Gruha Jyothi. He said the Congress govt in Telangana fulfilled not only election promises but additional commitments as well.

He said farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh were waived under Rythu Bharosa. Other schemes included gas cylinders at Rs 500, supply of fine rice and free medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh under Rajiv Aarogyasri.
