Six foreign nation students arrested in Guntur

VADDESWARAM (GUNTUR): Six

foreign nation students

, who are pursuing civil and computer science engineering courses at KL University at Vaddeswaram village were taken into police custody for attacking one youth, Suneel, on Sunday noon hours.

According to Mangalagiri range DSP Ramanajaneyulu, the six arrested were identified as citizens of

Tanzania

,

South Africa

and South Sudan, and purchasing liquor at one wine shop in the village.

The six parked their car in front of wine shop. When the lorry driver Suneel requested them to give him a way by parking the car on left side, they refused, where ignited a heated argument.

Shocked, Suneel countered back the students. After few minutes of tiff, they attacked Suneel with hand punches and even slit his throat with knife, leaving him in pool of blood.

Upon hearing the screams of Suneel, villagers gathered in huge numbers at wine shop and attacked six for injuring. In the attack, one wounded severely and other five were detained in the village.

DSP Ramanajaneyulu reached the spot and rushed both, Suneel and Tanzania nation student Kristopher Mess to NRI hospital. "The health condition of Suneel was in critical. He was admitted in ICU and need more hours to comment. Kristopher too in bad condition," he said.

Following the incident, it came to know that villagers also attacked few hostels in the village where other nation students are residing as a revolt against attacking the villager.

Tension was prevailed in the village following the attack. Special police forces deployed to Vaddeswaram village and brought the situation under control after the DSP assured justice to the angry villagers.

A case was booked against the incident in Tadepalli police station and investigation was on. The details of arrested were yet to known.
