HYDERABAD: The city which has been witnessing a number of suicides lately, saw another six persons taking their lives since Saturday.An auto driver, Md Habeeb Khan, 18, died after consuming poison late on Saturday night. Police said financial problems might have forced him to end his life. Khan consumed poison and went to his house at MCH colony, Teegalkunta and fell unconscious.
He was admitted to hospital where he succumbed on Sunday morning.
The body of a person, who reportedly jumped into the Hussainsagar, was fished out on Sunday. M Raghunath, 54, a resident of Lakdi-ka-pul, left home on Saturday and was missing since then. Police suspect Raghunath might have ended his life due to financial problems.In another incident, alleged land disputes with relatives led to the suicide of a farmer at Shamirpet. G Sanjeev Reddy, 40, of Jaganguda, set himself ablaze on July 21 reportedly vexed with the land disputes he was having with one of his relatives. Sanjeev Reddy succumbed to burns on Saturday while undergoing treatment. In Khairatabad, a 21-year-old woman V Sujatha locked herself in the kitchen before hanging herself from the ceiling on Saturday. Police are yet to establish the reasons behind the suicide.Elsewhere, a painter consumed poison to end his life on Saturday. A Pentaiah, 42, a resident of Mekal Mandi, was reportedly depressed after his wife deserted him a couple of years ago.K Shankariah, 60, a resident of Nagaram village in Maheshwaram, consumed poison reportedly due to unbearable stomach ache on Saturday. He died while undergoing treatment.
