It may be mentioned here that the Railway Board has already issued permissions for construction of Kothagudem-Sathupally broad gauge railway line. Singareni has agreed to bear the construction cost of 53.20 km railway line amounting to Rs. 620 crore. As part of this, Rs. 50 crore was handed over to the railways.

Higher authorities while reviewing the status of Kothagudem-Sathupally railway line project said land acquisition has already started and tenders were called for the construction of bridges on the government lands.

The railway officials requested the Singareni authorities to cooperate for acquisition of forest lands and private lands, and initiate action to get necessary permissions from the state and central governments. The Singareni CMD responded positively and assured funds would also be released from time to time as required by the railway authorities for construction cost.

The SCR GM Vinod Kumar said they intend to complete the project within two years from the date of completion of land acquisition.
