HYDERABAD: The appointment of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) chairman and managing director N Sridhar as CMD of National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC) has been reportedly put on hold following complaints by BJP Adilabad MP, Soyam Bapu Rao, to the Centre.
The Centre is investigating some of the charges and has sought clarifications from the state government and Sridhar himself, sources said. Interestingly, since the investigation has been ordered by the Union steel ministry into the allegations, the Centre has extended the services of in-charge CMD of NMDC Amitava Mukherjee, who is also director of NMDC, till November this year. Initially, he was given a three-month extension in March, which was extended till August and now to November. Mukherjee belongs to the 1995 batch of Indian Railway Accounts Service.
