Share details on BC census in Telangana: Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao to PM Narendra Modi

HYDERABAD: Telangana BC Commission chairman Vakulabharanam Krishna Mohan Rao on Sunday urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to share the details pertaining to socio-economic caste census of backward classes in Telangana.
In a letter to the PM, Krishna Mohan Rao said the caste census was taken up in 2011 and completed in 2015. But the Centre did not share details of BCs and their socio-economic conditions obtained during the census operations between 2011 and 2015.The Centre confined its statement to saying that the population of BCs was 52%.
"Since the central government is not keen on conducting a caste census of BCs, it would be of great help to Telangana state if the data of census-2011 regarding BCs in Telangana is shared. It would help the state government properly fix reservations for BCs in local bodies and also extend welfare schemes to targeted groups," he said.
