HYDERABAD: Secunderabad Cantonment MLA P
Shankar Rao, who is presently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Banjara Hills, has reportedly refused to give his statement when
Crime Investigation Department (CID) officers met him on Tuesday. The CID is inquiring into allegations of manhandling the MLA by the Cyberabad police when they went to pick him up for questioning.
This was the third time the CID officials made a vain bid to record the statement of Shankar Rao, who has been demanding a
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the matter instead of CID.
The statements of Shankar Rao's family members were already recorded by CID officials.
Meanwhile, speaking to reporters, director general of police (DGP) V Dinesh Reddy said that action would be taken against the Cyberabad police personnel involved in picking up Shankar Rao depending upon the findings of the report by additional director general of police (CID) T Krishna Prasad.
Shankar Rao was picked up for questioning by the Neredmet police a few days ago in connection with a pending Greenfields land grabbing case.
