Severed head of baby found on building rooftop in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The severed head of a baby found on the rooftop of a house in Chilka Nagar of Uppal under Rachakonda commissionerate on Thursday morning.
Police are suspecting the baby to be between the age group of 3 to 5 months old, however, the they are yet to identify the baby.
“It is an inhumane act, killing a baby. We found only the head of the baby, while, we did not get the other parts of the body,” said Ch.R.Umamaheswara Sarma, DCP Malkajgiri.
The owner of the house was unaware of the head, till, one of the family member went to the roof to put clothes for drying and noticed the head.
“I went to the roof in the morning with a bucket of washed clothes and bedsheets to put them out for drying. That is when I noticed the head,” said V Balalakshmi (55), resident of the house.
A huge crowd gathered to see when police reached the spot along with clues team and a dog squad to investigate the case.
The head of the baby was shifted to Gandhi Hospital for post mortem. Following the incident, police have registered a case under section 302 (Punishment for murder) and 201 (Causing disappearance of evidence of offence, or giving false information to screen offender) of IPC and have taken up the investigation.
