Seeds corp head slams BRS’s claims on Dharani
Hyderabad: Telangana Seeds Development Corporation chairman S Anvesh Reddy on Saturday questioned the claims of BRS leaders that there were no issues with Dharani portal.Responding to BRS MLA Palla Rajeswar Reddy's claim on Friday that Dharani had benefited 75 lakh farmers and ensured clear ownership of 1.52 crore acres, Reddy said: "Have you not come across the incidents where individuals, exhausted from repeatedly seeking title deeds for their rightful lands, resorted to suicide? If you (BRS leaders) claim there are no problems with Dharani, then we will show you how farmers are struggling to obtain their titles."He said if there were no problems, then why were 2.3 million applications submitted on Dharani. Reddy alleged that the previous BRS govt announced that the records were corrected, but failed to provide titles to the rightful owners. "You erased existing land records and silenced the farmers. The struggles of farmers in the past four years are significant," he claimed. The former BRS govt handed over the records to a private company. When the chief minister tried to reclaim these records, BRS defended the reckless actions of the private company, Reddy added. Rajeshwar Reddy on Friday criticised the Bhu Bharati Act as regressive, calling it a huge jolt for farmers. "Branding Dharani as flawed is baseless," he said.
