HYDERABAD: The ruckus in Congress continued over the candidature of

Huzurnagar

constituency. Taking a swipe at Congress working president Revanth Reddy’s remarks,

Bhongir

MP K Venkat Reddy on Friday asked: “How can new people suggest names for the

election

in our district?”

Venkat Reddy said: “We have been in politics for the past 30 years. No one knows the candidate Chamala Kiran Reddy’s name, which was suggested by Revanth Reddy. Senior Congress leader Jana Reddy also does not know this candidate.”

Venkat Reddy also said that all the Congress leaders are asking him to be PCC chief. “We had differences, but now me, Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jana Reddy are on same page,” he said. Venkat Reddy also expressed confidence that Padmavati, the candidate suggested by Uttam will win the election.

Interestingly, Venkat Reddy’s brother Congress MLA Rajagopal Reddy differed with him on the Huzurnagar election. “In Congress, no one decides candidates district-wise,” Rajagopal Reddy said, adding that it is not right to say that district leaders will decide their own candidates. “The matter lies in the hands of Congress high command” he said.

Another Congress MLA Jagga Reedy played it safe saying that every one is right in their own way, but the only leader in Congress is Rahul Gandhi.
