HYDERABAD: The food safety wing of Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Monday inspected a

KFC restaurant at KPHB

after a complainant found a rubber band inside a fried chicken piece. Sai Teja, a customer, took to Twitter stating that a rubber band was fried along with the chicken piece.

A picture of the chicken and the rubber band was posted on the microblogging site and Sai Teja tagged the zonal commissioner and assistant medical officer of health of Kukatpally to conduct necessary checks. Replying to the tweet, deputy commissioner K Ravi Kumar said, “Collected food samples by our food inspector from the said store. Necessary action will (be) taken up.”

India responded to Teja on Twitter seeking details in order to address his concern.

The food safety wing officials reached the spot and collected samples from the store and sent them to their laboratory for testing.
