HYDERABAD: With talks between the government and the National Mazdoor Union representatives not yielding any result, APSRTC employees will go ahead with their strike plan on December 11 and 12.
"Principal secretary (transport) A K Parida heard the grievances of the unions. But, it did not result in any breakthrough," APSRTC executive director (training and co-ordination) A Nageswara Rao told TOI.
According to NMU general secretary M Nageshwar Rao, the discussions were held for nearly two hours, and the union made it clear that the strike call would not be withdrawn until a written assurance was given by the government on withdrawing introduction of 1,500 Setwin buses in the state.
"When the government failed to control movement of Setwin buses in unauthorised routes in the city, how can they regulate 1,500 buses in the state? We also made it clear that APSRTC will suffer losses of Rs 4,500 per bus per day," Nageshwar Rao added.
