HYDERABAD: A 40-year-old GHMC employee was killed in an incident of road rage in Malkajgiri on Sunday night. Rao fell on the road and suffered a minor injury on his leg.
But as Swamy did not stop his vehicle after the accident, Narsing Rao, along with three others, chased him and intercepted his moped near GHMC garbage transfer station. "Furious with Swamy, Narsing Rao and his associates thrashed him black and blue," Malkajgiri sub-inspector (SI) E Jahangir said.
Swamy managed to make a phone call to his colleague Bheemraj. But when Bheemraj, along with Swamy's family, arrived at the spot, they found Swamy dead on the road. "There were no external injuries and we suspect that Swamy died due to internal injuries," the SI said.
Narsing admitted himself at a hospital in Malkajgiri for treatment of his leg injury. Police have placed a constable on guard to prevent him from escaping and have registered a case against him and others under section 304 (ii) (Culpable homicide not amounting to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
