Telangana revenge killing: Man hacked to death in front of his father

HYDERABAD: A 38-year-old worker was hacked to death in broad daylight at his native place Nagaram village in Maheswaram by the family members of a fellow villager, who had died under suspicious circumstances in January 2017.


The deceased was, T Raju, 38, a worker from

Shadnagar

. At 9am on Sunday, Raju along with his father Narasimha went to Nagaram village to borrow money from an advocate, Nageswara Rao. “Raju and Narasimha had asked Nageswara Rao for money a few days ago and he asked them to come on Sunday morning,” Maheswaram inspector A Arjunaiah said.

statue on the main road of Nagaram village, fellow villagers Shankaraiah, a farmer, and his son Matsyender came on a bike and attacked Raju with axes. “Raju was hacked to death in front of his father and several villagers by Shankaraiah and Matsyender. The incident happened in less than a minute before anyone could try to stop the axe-wielding attackers,” the inspector added.

After the murder, police were alerted about the incident and the cops shifted Raju’s body to a hospital for postmortem examination.

During preliminary investigation, police found out that the assailants were family members of K Krishna, 38, a labourer who was found dead under suspicious circumstances near the railway tracks at

Shamshabad

on January 12, 2017. “Shankaraiah is the father of Krishna and Matsyender. Though police probe found no indications that Raju had anything to do with the death of Krishna, the latter’s family did not believe it and they decided to kill Raju,” the inspector said. Both the accused are in police custody.
