Dharani’s tranformation only after all-party meet: Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday said that a new system to modify or replace Dharani portal will be brought only after holding an all-party meet. If possible, the govt will also hold a discussion in the assembly on a comprehensive legislation, he said. At a review meeting at the secretariat on Dharani, the CM directed the officials not only to conduct an in-depth study to know the problems in Dharani, but also take suggestions and objections from the people. Work out modalities to permanently resolve the problems arising as a result of the Dharani portal, he told officials. “Take up an in-depth study by taking up a pilot project in one mandal. Officials should take necessary steps to prevent unnecessary problems once modifications in various modules available in the portal are made. The previous BRS govt brought Dharani in such a way that it has scope for denying the rightful owners of their land. The illegalities and errors committed during feeding of land information in the portal resulted in hardships to innumerable land owners and farmers.” Before Dharani, there was a system wherein farmers or land owners could go in for an appeal. But after Dharani came into effect, the system of making an appeal at gram panchayat or mandal level was done away with, he said. All powers were vested with collectors under Dharani. Now, problems pertaining to land records are not being solved even at the collectors’ level and that the owners do not have the provision of questioning the decision taken by the collectors.Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Friday said that a new system to modify or replace Dharani portal will be brought only after holding an all-party meet.
