Hyderabad: Chief minister A
Revanth Reddy on Tuesday escalated his attack on
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and
Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan, alleging a ‘tacit understanding' between the two and accusing the PM of acting as the ‘godfather' of Vijayan.
Campaigning in many constituencies across Kerala, Revanth claimed Modi was protecting Vijayan despite alleged irregularities and pending cases, while targeting opposition leaders elsewhere in what he described as the Centre's ‘harassment' of the Gandhi family.
The Telangana CM sharpened his political pitch by branding Vijayan as ‘another Modi' and alleging a covert alliance, referring to them as ‘Modi brothers', and asserted that voters in Kerala had recognised this equation and predicted a political shift in favour of the Congress-led UDF.
"The people of Kerala will make the right decision, and a change is imminent in Kerala," he said, expressing confidence that the next UDF govt would focus on development, welfare and job creation.
Revanth acknowledged Kerala's strong panchayat raj system but credited its success to former Congress CMs K Karunakaran and Oommen Chandy. "Pinarayi Vijayan's era has come to an end, his 120-month rule has become a symbol of failure. We are poised to win with a two-thirds majority, and we will deliver a style of governance modelled after that of Chandy," he said at a meeting in Kovalam.
Focusing on employment, he flagged large-scale migration of Kerala's youth abroad, calling it a reflection of limited opportunities within the state.
"We will replicate the model of development seen in Telangana — focusing on infrastructure creation, job recruitment, and enhancing opportunities for self-employment in Kerala," he said.
Responding to Vijayan's reported refusal to engage in a debate, Revanth said that just as Telangana voters had defeated K Chandrasekhar Rao, Kerala too would vote for change.
"We have provided 67,000 govt jobs. We have waived loans worth ₹20,670 crore for 2.5 million farming families. We have sanctioned four lakh Indiramma houses. We are providing free electricity up to 200 units, and we are supplying gas cylinders for just ₹500. We are fulfilling all our promises; Vijayan is welcome to visit Telangana and verify everything for himself," he said.

Hyderabad: In his second letter to Kerala CM Vijayan on Tuesday, CM Revanth Reddy said Kerala's achievements were rooted in the performance of previous UDF govts and asked the LDF to spell out its own contributions. He cited Telangana's economic performance, stating that the state's GSDP for 2024-25 stood at ₹16.12 lakh crore with a growth rate of 10.7%, higher than the national average of 9.9%.
