‘Regularise contract teachers’

Hyderabad: The contract teachers’ association of Osmania University has appealed to the government to regularise the services of such teachers in 12 varsities in the state. On Thursday, they organised a protest during lunch hour to press for regularisation of their jobs. Earlier, the contract teachers working in Osmania University and Telangana Mahila Vishwa Vidyalayam held a rally from OU administrative building gate to Arts College.“The chief minister should regularise our services as promised. It has been our long-pending demand,” said A Parshuram, president Osmania University Teachers’ Association (Contract). He said other states have regularised contractual services of assistant professors and part-time lecturers through special acts. tnn
