HYDERABAD: Two assailants reportedly tried to stab a realtor at his office in Shivarampally on Tuesday. He survived the attack but suffered critical injuries and is recuperating in a hospital.
Babu Miyan, 45, from Mylardeopally, is into real estate business and runs an office from Rizwan Colony in Shivarampally.
At about 1.30 pm, when Miyan was at his office, two persons went there and attacked him with knives.
"Miyan suffered six stab injuries on his abdomen and back. He collapsed there and the assailants fled from the spot. The domestic help, Manjula, who came to the office, saw Miyan bleeding with injuries and alerted the neighbours, who intimated us," Shivarampally SI Mohammed Allauddin said.
Miyan was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment and his condition is said to be critical.
According to the police, Miyan could not identify the culprits. Police suspect that the attack could be the result of a land dispute.
"A civil dispute has been going on about ownership of a property at Rizwan Colony between the realtor and others since 2004. We suspect that the dispute could be a cause for the attack," the SI said. Police booked a case under section 307 (Attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and launched a manhunt to nab the assailants.
