Ready to transfer phone tapping, power purchase cases to CBI: Revanth
Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Thursday stated that if Union minister G Kishan Reddy writes a letter, the state govt will hand over the alleged phone tapping case to CBI.During an open interaction with reporters in Delhi, he said, "The person responsible for the phone tapping, Prabhakar Rao, fled abroad for 20 months. Rao, the former SIB chief, was brought back to the country following Supreme Court orders. Notices from SIT are issued to individuals only after Prabhakar Rao's interrogation. Computers and hard disks in SIB were destroyed after the govt changed. Telangana high court took up the phone tapping case suo motu." He also indicated that they would hand over power purchase agreement (PPA) cases to CBI.
Revanth Reddy said they had requested a CBI investigation into the Kaleshwaram project, but it remains pending with the central govt. He demanded that Union minister Kishan Reddy explain why a CBI probe was not ordered. He criticised the notion that only three pillars of the Kaleshwaram project collapsed, arguing that if a bomb was placed inside a project, it explodes above, not below. He promised to disclose whether it was 3 or 30 pillars after receiving confirmation from the committee. He said that if Telangana's requests regarding Krishna water were met, they would cooperate with Andhra Pradesh. He said that every document related to Singareni would be presented in the assembly. He questioned whether Union minister Kishan Reddy would apologise if his allegations were proved wrong, asking, "Why is the Union minister not questioning BRS, during whose tenure debts increased?"He predicted that simultaneous elections would occur in 2029 and said that women's reservations would also happen. He said that the govt was looking to allot 500 acres for a bullet train hub project near the airport.Meanwhile, chief minister Revanth Reddy also declared that he is both "the king and the minister", emphasising that he does not compare himself to anyone and has no competition. He reiterated his intention to remain chief minister for the next 10 and a half years. He expressed his support for awarding Bharat Ratna to NTR and announced plans to install a statue of NTR in Hyderabad soon.
