Raise security outside Indian Embassy in UK: Telangana BJP leaders

HYDERABAD: In view of the attack on Indian tricolour by alleged Khalistani miscreants in UK, BJP corporators on Monday submitted a representation with the British deputy high commissioner demanding the security at the Indian Embassy in London be beefed up. Four corporators — V Sravan Kumar, GNVK Mahalakshmi, Raman Goud, Akula Srivani and K Mahender — visited the High Commission at Taj Deccan Hotel.

“We request the UK Government to increase the security around the Indian High Commission towards non-recurrence of such untoward incidents,” the letter signed by the corporators read.

Protests are already underway across the country at British High Commission offices over the incident with the External Affairs Ministry already summoning British deputy high commissioner Christina Scott.

“Never in history has such an incident taken place at any other embassy in the UK. This shows the lack of security measures for India in UK. We just wanted to do our bit by submitting the representation,” Sravan Kumar told TOI.
