Stung by dengue, Hyderabad grapples to meet rising platelet demand
The number of dengue cases in Hyderabad has increased, leading to a higher demand for platelets. Currently, there are at least 20 distress calls for platelets each day across blood banks and donor groups in the city. Platelet transfusion is required when the count drops below a certain level and when there are symptoms of bleeding. While corporate hospitals are able to meet the demand internally, many patients are asked to find donors. The Red Cross Blood Bank in Hyderabad is helping to arrange platelet donors for those in need.
CWCs meet in Hyderabad to focus on Telangana, LS polls
The reconstituted Congress Working Committee (CWC) is meeting in Hyderabad to discuss strategies for upcoming state assembly elections and the 2024 Lok Sabha polls. The meeting will also address topics such as the formation of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), a special parliament session, the one nation-one election proposal, and the current political scenario. The leaders expressed confidence that Congress will come to power in all five states and criticized Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister KCR for their alleged anti-democratic actions.
