HYDERABAD: The People’s War on Thursday wanted the government to pay an ex gratia of Rs 10 lakh to the kin of those killed in Wednesday’s train accident and Rs 5 lakh for the injured.
Speaking to The Times of India, M Bhaskar, People’s War north Telangana special zonal committee spokesman, said the accident took place due to the mistake committed by the station master.

He alleged that the station master did not take the right step after he was informed about the problem by the driver of the Golconda Express.
A train running at a speed of 110 kilometres per hour cannot come to a halt without brakes and diverting it on to the loopline was a major blunder, he said. Instead, the station master should have taken steps to clear the main line for the train.
He also alleged that the railway staff of the nearby stations and the Warangal railway station did not turn up for immediate relief activity.
It was the villagers and passersby who helped the victims, he said. The NDA government has failed to take effective steps to prevent train accidents, he said.
