Congress MPs from Seemandhra have been fighting to keep the state united ever since the Congress high command cleared decks for the division of Andhra Pradesh two months ago, she said.
The Congress high command is however determined to divide the state despite strong opposition, she added.
Purandeswari told reporters here that they were all gearing up to fight for the Seemandhra region if the division of the state is indeed inevitable.
"We must have a planned strategy in terms of the future course of action. We cannot afford to ignore the actual demands of the region and get the Centre to accept them," she said.
Division of the state would pose several problems including sharing of water and assets, she said.
"Boycotting the GoM or keeping away from representing our case would result in gross injustice to the region. I cannot bring myself to do that. We will represent our case at all the available platforms and seek justice for Seemandhra," she added.Purandeswari said centralized development around Hyderabad was the bone of contention. Failure to develop other cities has hurt the sentiments of the people in Seemandhra, she said.
