‘Stop 100-feet road work on OU campus’

Hyderabad: Condemning the proposal to lay a 100-feet road on Osmania University campus, the OU Teachers Association (OUTA) on Wednesday requested chief minister to stop the work which began during Sankranti vacation.They said the varsity would lose a huge chunk of land due to the road from NCC gate to Adikmet flyover beside AIMS college. “As per Justice O Chinnappa Reddy commission's report, not even an inch of varsity land can be given to government or any private organisation. We don’t know why this road is proposed,” said OUTA president B Manohar, adding that neither students nor the faculty have sought this road as parallel roads were already available on the route.The OUTA plans to hold a protest programmes to stop the work, he said. tnn
