Hyderabad: Gym trainer Rahul Singh was killed by hired assailants in Rajendranagar on the directions of his relatives. Police arrested eight persons, including his two cousins, for the murder on Saturday. A dispute over ancestral property at Manikonda was reportedly the trigger for the murder.
Rajendranagar police said prime accused Vinod Singh and Raja Singh were arrested along with supari gang members Mohammed Akbar, Syed Shabhaz, Syed Irfan, Syed Mahaboob, Mohammed Majid and Mohammed Afsar Pasha.
Addressing a press conference here, deputy commissioner of police (Rajendranagar) R Jagadishwar Reddy said that Vinod Singh and Raja Singh had property disputes with Rahul Singh for a long time.
Rahul had been claiming a share over the ancestral property in possession of the two. He allegedly used to threaten the duo and create problems by intimidating their tenants. The ancestral property included villas, commercial plots and others, the officer said.
To end the dispute for ever, Vinod Singh and Raja Singh decided to eliminate Rahul. To execute their plan, they engaged hired assailants and agreed to pay 15 lakh as supari, the DCP added.
