Hyderabad: A 22-year-old youth collapsed on ground during an 800-metre run, held as part of physical screening for the post of police constable in Nalgonda district, and died while undergoing treatment in hospital on Tuesday, police said.
V Rajasekhar, a native of Suryapet in the district, participated in the physical training test after clearing the written test in Nalgonda town on Monday.
"During the 800-metre run, conducted as part of physical fitness test for recruitment of police constable, he completed the first round of 400 metre but collapsed during the second round. He was taken to a hospital where he died while undergoing treatment at around midnight on Monday," Nalgonda district superintendent of police N Prakash Reddy said.
According to doctors, Rajasekhar suffered heart-attack and died in the hospital, the SP said.
