Police book apps’ organisers in online betting case

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police, investigating a case against Tollywood actors Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Vijay Devarakonda, Manchu Lakshmi, Praneetha, Nidhi Agarwal, Ananya Nagella, and other social media influencers for allegedly promoting online betting apps, have now named the organisers of these apps as accused. A total of 25 individuals, including actors and influencers, were initially booked, and 19 apps and their organisers have also been added to the list of accused. Miyapur police, who registered the case, submitted a memo to the court regarding this development.The investigation is focused on gathering evidence regarding the actors' involvement, and police are in the process of finalising the procedures to summon the app organisers for alleged violations under the Telangana Gaming Act.The case against the influencers is also under investigation. "Every detail is being thoroughly examined to verify the actors' and influencers' involvement and determine if a case can be made against them," said a Cyberabad police official.
