Plaints over ration cards, cylinder at 500 at Praja Palana
Hyderabad: A large number of people complained that they were not getting domestic gas cylinder at 500 and also urged for issuance of new ration cards at the meet-the-minister Praja Palana programme with irrigation and civil supplies minister N Uttam Kumar Reddy at Gandhi Bhavan on Friday.Uttam said all the eligible families will be covered under the 500 gas cylinder scheme but called upon the people to submit their applications for new ration cards when the process starts in October in respective villages and towns.Over 300 representations were submitted to the minister during the programme, with many of them pertaining to land record problems in Dharani, the oustees of irrigation projects seeking better compensation, and a four-member dwarfs group seeking govt employment.The minister spoke to the officials over the phone in matters that could be resolved on the spot and directed them to do the needful. A special queue was arranged for the women, pregnant, and specially challenged following a large number of applicants rushing in groups to submit their representations to the minister.Telangana Congress president B Mahesh Kumar Goud sought to assure people that the party will ensure that the govt acts on their complaints and redresses their grievances. People coming from various corners of the state to the Praja Palana is a testimony to their confidence that the Congress govt is open to listening to their grievances, unlike the previous govt, he said.
