According to the police, Ratnavath and Suhasini got married in 2019 and have two daughters. When his wife got pregnant for the third time, he threatened to desert her if she delivered a girl again.

A week ago, Harisingh approached two technicians, Ranapangu Gopi and Shaik Saidulu, recommended by local practitioner Amaragoni Naveen. They put the couple in touch with Kammampati Guruvaiah, who confirmed on June 23 that it's a girl. "The family took Suhasini to Shaik Khasim at Kamala Hospital in Huzurnagar. He conducted the abortion with sister Devarakonda Rani's help," said police. As her condition worsened, the family took her to Hyderabad, but she died on June 25.
