HYDERABAD: The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) has taken up a massive renovation of small temples in the Old City area on the occasion of Bonalu festival.

HYDERABAD: The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad (MCH) has taken up a massive renovation of small temples in the Old City area on the occasion of Bonalu festival.
Construction of compound walls, flooring and lighting facilities are being made for the festival. Mayor Teegala Krishna Reddy and other senior MCH officials visited five temples in Gudimalkapur locality on Wednesday.

The team inspected the ongoing works at Mysamma temple, Putta Yellamma temple, Jamsingh Balaji temple, Bangaru Mysamma temple, Mahankali Pochamma, and Darbar Mysamma temples.
Interacting with the public, the mayor asked them to celebrate Bonalu happily and not create any law and order problem. Earlier, Krishna Reddy visited the Ambedkar Nagar slum in Mehdipatnam division where the residents complained of inadequate sanitation. He also visited the Balajyothi School in the locality where the residents requested him to sanction an additional building.
The school has 82 students and three teachers. The primary school has only one room for all the students of classes I to V. Krishna Reddy instructed the MCH officials to prepare an estimate for the construction of an additional room for the school.
Mehdipatnam corporator D Karunakar, MCH additional commissioner K Vijaya Bhaskar, and other officials were present.
