HYDERABAD: Jubilee Hills police have secured three-day custody of the two accused in NRI businessman Chigurupati Jayaram’s murder case.
NRI businessman Jayaram was allegedly killed by Rakesh Reddy and Srinivas at the former’s rented flat in Jubilee Hills recently. After killing Jayaram, Rakesh Reddy put the body in his car, drove the vehicle to Nandigama in Krishna district of
Andhra Pradesh and abandoned it along the National Highway (NH).
During subsequent investigation, Krishna district police arrested Rakesh Reddy and watchman Srinivas. However, as the murder took place in Jubilee Hills, AP police transferred the case to Hyderabad commissionerate. After registering a murder case on Monday, Jubilee Hills police brought Rakesh Reddy and Srinivas to Hyderabad from Nandigama prison on a Prisoner Transit warrant. Based on a petition moved by police, a local court granted them three-day custody of the duo starting from Wednesday.
